The route
From Fes the road climbs to Ifrane and the cedar forests of Azrou, where you can often see Barbary monkeys. It continues through Midelt and the Ziz valley with its palm groves, then Errachidia, Erfoud and Merzouga.
The drive takes about 7 to 8 hours without long stops.

By private tour
The most popular option is a 2-day tour from Fes: you arrive in Merzouga in the afternoon, ride a camel to our camp, spend the night in the dunes and return to Fes the next day – or continue to Marrakech.
By bus or rental car
Long-distance buses connect Fes with Merzouga and Rissani. With a rental car the road is easy to follow – just avoid driving at night. Parking at the camp is free.
